The 2006 Harris campaign run for Congress is over. Harris received about a third of the vote against Bob Ney in May, and lost soundly in a field of five in a special replacement primary in September, taking a very distant second place. Although Harris did not raise money from donors or exceed minimal FEC spending limits, he did wage an energetic campaign of ideas to oppose government corruption, restrain government spending, lower tax rates and promote economic growth in Ohio.

Harris congratulates the victor, Joy Padgett, and is pleased that she joined Harris in signing the Americans for Tax Reform anti-tax pledge and hopes that if elected to Congress she will restrain spending and lower tax rates. Harris is pleased that he opposed Ney and corruption in 2006, and that Ney's withdrawal gave his party a chance to keep the seat. Harris repeats his request to Zack Space to sign the ATR pledge and other good government pledges to restrain out of control government spending.
